ASPLIN, WILLIAM (1687-1758)

William Asplin, escritor teológico inglés, nació en 1687 y murió en 1758. Fue educado en Trinity College, Oxford, recibiendo su graduación en 1707, trasladándose a St. Alban's Hall y convirtiéndose en sub-rector. Fue ordenado en 1709, se convirtió en capellán de un regimiento y en 1717 en vicario de Banbury. En 1721 era vicario de Horley y en 1733 de Burthorpe, Gloucestershire. Se casó con Mary, hija de John Myster, de Horton, Oxfordshire. Asplin era un hombre de considerable conocimiento y se escribió con el doctor John Ward, el profesor de retórica de Gresham, sobre asuntos relacionados con el saber arqueológico y la historia natural.
