John Brown, teólogo escocés, nació en Haddignton el 24 de julio de 1754 y murió en Whitburn, Linlithgowshire, el 10 de febrero de 1832.

Era el hijo mayor de John Brown de Haddington y a los catorce años entró en la universidad de Edimburgo. Thomas Bradbury (Berwick, 1831); Memorials of the Nonconformist Ministers of the seventeenth century (Edimburgo, 1832).
