BUTTERFIELD, SWITHUN († 1611)

Swithun Butterfield, escritor misceláneo inglés, se supone que fue miembro de Pembroke Hall, Cambridge, ya que por su testamento, en donde se le describe de Cambridge, caballero, fechado en 1608, y aprobado en la corte universitaria el 21 de diciembre de 1611, dio a esa universidad 10 libras para comprar libros, también sus manuscritos que son enumerados a continuación, sus instrumentos geométricos y otras curiosidades. Fue autor de: A Summarie of the Principles of Christian Religion, selected in manner of Common-Places out of the Writings of the best Diuines of our Age, Londres, 1582; A Catechism, or the Principles of the true Christian Religion: breifelie selected out of manie good books, Londres, 1590; A great Abridgement of the Common Lawes; An Abridgement of the CivilLawes; Collection of Policies in Peace and War, 1604; A Book of Physic and Surgery; A Book of Controversie out of Bellarmine, &c., 1606; A Book of Common-Place in Religion, 1606.
