CARVELL, NICHOLAS († 1566)

Nicholas Carvell, poeta inglés, murió en el verano de 1566. Fue elegido de Eton para King College en 1545, graduándose en 1549 y obteniendo la mestría en 1553. Estuvo en Zurich durante el reinado de María, pero regresó después del ascenso de Isabel. Se le atribuyeron los siguientes poemas en Mirror for Magistrates, firmados 'Cavyl': How the two Mortimers for their sundry vices ended their days unfortunately; The Wilfull fall of the blacke Smith and the foolishe ende of the Lord Awdeley in June, anno 1496. También contribuyó a la colección a la muerte de Bucero en 1551. En Alumni Etonenses de Harwood, p. 161, se le confunde con James Calfhill.
