DE PUY, WILLIAM HARRISON (1821-1901)

William Harrison de Puy nació en Penn Yann, Nueva York, el 31 de octubre de 1821 y murió en Canaan, Connecticut, el 4 de septiembre de 1901.

Fue educado en Genesee College, Union University y Mount Union College, siendo profesor de matemáticas y filosofía natural en Genesee Wesleyan Seminary, 1851-1855. Fue editor asociado de The Christian Advocate 1865-84 y editor de The Methodist Year Book 1866-89. También editó The People's Cyclopedia of Universal Knowledge (3 volúmenes, Nueva York, 1882); The People's Atlas of the World (1886) y University of Literature (1896); escribió Threescore Years and Beyond: or, Experiences of the Aged (Nueva York, 1872); Home and Health and Home Economics (1880) y The Methodist Centennial Year Book, 1784-1884 (1884).
