ERRETT, ISAAC (1820-1888)

Isaac Errett nació en Nueva York el 2 de enero de 1820 y murió en Cincinnati, Ohio, el 19 de diciembre de 1888.

Fue un autodidacta desde que tuvo 10 años y tras trabajar como granjero, molinero, aserrador, librero, impresor, maestro de escuela, pastor, predicador y editor, se convirtió en uno de los hombres prominentes de la denominación Discípulos de Cristo. Fue también editor asociado con Alexander Campbell de The Millennial Harbinger y desde 1866 hasta su muerte fue editor jefe del órgano denominacional, The Christian Standard, publicado en Cincinnati. Sus escritos incluyen First Principles; or, The Elements of the Gospel (Cincinnati, 1867); Walks about Jerusalem: A Search after the Landmarks of Primitive Christianity (1872); Talks to Bereans (1875); Letters to a Young Christian (1881); Evenings with the Bible (3 volúmenes, 1885-88); Life and Writings of George Edward Flower (1885) y Our Position: A Brief Statement of the Plea urged by the People known as Disciples of Christ (1885).
