LEATHES, STANLEY (1830-1900)

Stanley Leathes nació en Ellesborough, Bucks, el 21 de marzo de 1830 y murió en Much Hadham, Herts, el 30 de abril de 1900. Estudió en Jesus College, Cambridge (licenciatura en humanidades, 1852; máster en humanidades, 1855), y tras servir en varias iglesias fue nombrado en 1863 profesor de hebreo en King's College, Londres. Fue también cura perpetuo de St. Philip's, Regent Street, Londres, 1829-80, rector de Cliffe-at-Hoo, Kent, 1880-89 y de Much Hadham, Herts, 1899-1900. Fue miembro de la junta de revisores del Antiguo Testamento en 1870 y desde 1876 hasta su muerte fue prebendario de Caddington Major en la catedral de San Pablo, capellán examinador del obispo de Lichfield después de 1891 y examinador en Escritura para la universidad de Londres después de 1892.
