LUARD, HENRY RICHARDS (1825-1891)

Henry Richards Luard, anglicano, nació en Londres el 17 de agosto de 1825 y murió en Cambridge el 1 de mayo de 1891.

Fue educado en King College, Londres, y en Trinity College, Cambridge (licenciatura en humanidades, 1847; máster en humanidades, 1850; graduado en teología, 1875; doctor en teología, 1878). Fue miembro del consejo rector de Trinity College (1849) y tutor ayudante en matemáticas allí (1855-1865); administrador (1853-61) y registrador de la universidad de Cambridge (1862-91). Fue ordenado diácono y sacerdote(1865), siendo vicario de Great St. Mary, Cambridge (1860-67). Escribió On the Relations between England and Rome during the Earlier Portion of the Reign of Henry III, (Cambridge, 1877) y editó Diary of E. Rud (1851); Correspondence of Richard Poreon (1851); Lives of Edward the Confessor (1858); Bartholomai de Cotton Historia Anglicana (1859); Roberti Grosseteste Epistolæ (1861); Annales monastici (1864-69); Mattthæi Parisiensis Chronica majora (1872) y Flores historiarum (1890); también preparó Catalogue of the Manuscripts Preserved in the Library of the University of Cambridge (1856) y Graduati Cantabrigienses (1884).
