MACLEAR, GEORGE FREDERICK (1833-1902)

George Frederick Maclear, anglicano, nació en Bedford, Inglaterra, el 3 de febrero de 1833 y murió en Canterbury el 19 de octubre de 1902.

Fue educado en Trinity College, Cambridge (licenciatura en humanidades, 1855; máster en humanidades, 1860; graduado en teología, 1867; doctor en teología, 1872). Fue ordenado diácono en 1856 y sacerdote en 1857. Fue ministro ayudante de Curzon Chapel, Mayfair, y de St. Mark, Notting Hill, y desde 1865 a 1870 predicador ayudante en Temple Church (las tres iglesias en Londres). Fue rector de King College School desde 1866 a 1880 y conferenciante Boyle en 1879-80. En 1880 era rector de St. Augustine College, Canterbury, y en 1885 canónigo honorario de la catedral de Canterbury. También editó en Cambridge Bible for Schools, Josué (1880) y Marcos (1879) y en Cambridge Greek Testament for Schools, Marcos (1883).
