MOCKET, THOMAS (1602- c. 1670)

Thomas Mocket, teólogo puritano, nació en 1602 y murió hacia 1670.

Se matriculó como estudiante con beca en Queen College, Cambridge, el 4 de julio de 1622, graduándose en 1625 y obteniendo la maestría en 1631. Se incorporó en el último grado a Oxford en julio de 1639. Durante algún tiempo fue capellán de John Egerton, primer conde de Bridgewater, presidente de las marcas en Gales, quien le favoreció y le prometió ascenso. Mocket adoptó los principios puritanos y en 1642 fue predicador en Holt, Denbighshire; en 1648 o antes obtuvo la rectoría de Gilston, Hertfordshire, al serle secuestra a Christopher Webb, a quien devolvió el beneficio en la Restauración en 1660.
