NEVIN, ALFRED (1816-1890)

Alfred Nevin, presbiteriano americano, nació en Shipensburg, Pensilvania, el 14 de marzo de 1816 y murió en Lancaster, Pensilvania, el 2 de septiembre de 1890.

Se graduó en Jefferson College, Canonsburg, Pensilvania, 1836, y en el Western Theological Seminary, Allegheny, Pensilvania, 1839; fue pastor de Cedar Grove Church, Pensilvania, 1840-45; de la iglesia reformada alemana, Chambersburg, Pensilvania, 1845-52; de la segunda iglesia presbiteriana, Lancaster, Pensilvania, 1852-57 y de Alexander Church, Filadelfia, 1857-61; también enseñó en la National School of Oratory, Filadelfia, 1878-80.
