REYNOLDS, HENRY ROBERT (1825-1896)

Henry Robert Reynolds nació en Romsey, Inglaterra, el 26 de febrero de 1825 y murió en Broxbourne el 10 de septiembre de 1896.

Fue educado en Coward College y University Colege, Londres (licenciatura en humanidades, 1848); fue pastor en Halsted, Essex, 1846 y en Leeds, 1849; presidente de Countess of Huntingdong College, Cheshunt, Hertz, 1860, del que se retiró en 1894. Fue autor de Beginnings of the Divine Life (Londres, 1859); Notes of the Christian Life (1865); John the Baptist, Congregational Union lectures for 1874 (1874); Philosophy of Prayer, and other Essays (1881); un comentario sobre Oseas y Amós (1884), en la obra de C. J. Ellicott, Old-Testament Commentary (1882-84); de exposición, comentario e introducción al evangelio de Juan (1887-88; en Pulpit Commentary); Athanasius: his Life and Life Work (1889); Light and Peace. Sermons and Addresses (1892) y Lamps of the Temple, and other Addresses to Young Men (1895). Fue también editor adjunto y compilador de Psalms, Hymns, and Passages of Scripture for Christian Worship (1888); editor de Ecclesia: Church Problems, 2 series (1870-71); Athanasius (1889) y coeditor de British Quarterly Review (1800-74) y de The Evangelical Magazine (1877-82).
