SIBTHORP, SIR CHRISTOPHER († 1632)

Sir Christopher Sibthorp, panfletista inglés, murió en 1632. Fue nombrado tercer magistrado del tribunal del rey en Irlanda el 11 de mayo de 1607, concediéndosele el título de Sir el 3 de mayo de 1618. Retuvo su cargo hasta su muerte. Sibthorp fue autor de A Friendly Advertisement to the Pretended Catholickes of Ireland: Declaration for their satisfaction that both the King's Supremacies, and the Faith whereof his Majestic is the Defender, are consonant to the doctrine delivered in the holy Scriptures and writings of the ancient Fathers. Luego añadió una carta de semejante tono, escrita por el autor a James Ussher (1580-1656) (Dublín, 1622); A reply to an Answer which a Popish Adversary made to two chapters contained in the first part of that book which is entitled a Friendly Advertisement to the Pretended Catholickes of Ireland (Dublín, 1625); A Surreplication to the Rejoinder of a Popish Adversary (Dublín, 1627).
