SMITH, BENJAMIN MOSBY (1811-1893)

Benjamin Mosby Smith nació en Montrose, Powhatan County, Virginia, el 30 de junio de 1811 y murió en Petersburg, Virginia, el 14 de marzo de 1893. Se graduó en Hampden-Sidney Colege, Prince Edward County, Virginia, 1829, y en Union Theological Seminary, Virginia, 1834, donde fue tutor, 1834-36; pastor en Danville, Virginia, 1838-40; en Tinkling Spring y Waynesborough, 1840-45; en Staunton, 1845-54, y luego fue profesor de literatura bíblica y oriental en Union Seminary. Desde 1858 a 1874 fue con el Dr. Dabney, pastor de Hampden-Sidney College Church. Publicó A Commentary on the Psalms and Proverbs (Glasgow, 1859); Family Religion (Filadelfia, 1859); Questions on the Gospels (volumen 1, Richmond, 1868).
