STORY, ROBERT HERBERT (1835-1907)

Robert Herbert Story nació en Roseneath, Escocia, el 28 de enero de 1835 y murió en Glasgow el 13 de enero de 1907.

Fue educado en las universidades de Edimburgo (máster en humanidades, 1853) y Heidelberg (1853), recibiendo su preparación teológica en Edimburgo (1853-56) y St. Andrews (1856-57). Fue ministro en Roseneath (1860-87); profesor de historia eclesiástica en la universidad de Glasgow (1887-98); desde 1898 hasta su muerte fue rector y vicecanciller de la universidad. En teología perteneció a la escuela liberal. Además de editar Scot Magazine, escribió Memoir of the Life of Robert Story (Cambridge, 1862); Christ the Consoler (Edimburgo, 1865); Life and Remains of Robert Lee (2 volúmenes, Londres, 1870); William Carstares: a Character and Career of the Revolutionary Epoch (1874); Creed and Conduct (Glasgow, 1878) y The Apostolic Ministry in the Scottish Church (Londres, 1897). Igualmente editó The Church of Scotland, Past and Present (5 volúmenes, Londres, 1890-91).
