STOUGHTON, JOHN (1807-1897)

John Stoughton nació en Norwich, Inglaterra, el 18 de noviembre de 1807 y murió en Baling, Londres, el 24 de octubre de 1897.

Estudió en la escuela de su ciudad natal, emprendiendo la carrera de derecho hasta 1828, cuando entró en Highbury College, Islington; fue pastor en Windsor 1833-43, y en Kensington 1843-74; profesor de teología histórica y homilética en New College, St. John's Wood, Londres, 1872-84; y conferenciante de la Unión congregacional en 1855.
