WALKER, WILLIAM (1817-1911)

William Walker, anglicano escocés, nació en Inveramsay (a 27 kilómetros al noroeste de Aberdeen), Aberdeenshire, el 3 de noviembre de 1817 y murió en Aberdeen el 11 de marzo de 1911. Fue educado en King College, Aberdeen (maestría, universidad de Aberdeen, 1840), siendo ordenado diácono en 1832 y sacerdote dos años después; fue coadjutor de St. Andrew, Aberdeen (1842-44); rector de Monymusk, Aberdeenshire (1844-1900); y deán de las diócesis unidas de Aberdeen y Orkney (1896-1906). Escribió: Life of Bishops Jolly and Gleig (Edimburgo, 1878); Moses and Deuteronomy (1880); Life and Times of the Poet-Priest John Skinner (Aberdeen, 1882); The Kings of Israel (Londres, 1882); Life and Times of Bishop JohnAberdeen, 1887); Reminiscences of Three Churchmen (primado C. H. Terrot, obispo M. Russel y Professor G. Grub; Edimburgo, 1893) y Epochs of Scottish Church History (1897).
