WESTON, HENRY GRIGGS (1820-1909)

Henry Griggs Weston, bautista americano, nació en Lynn, Massachusetts, el 11 de septiembre de 1820 y murió en Crozer Theological Seminary, Upland, Pensilvania, el 6 de febrero de 1909. Recibió su educación en la universidad Brown (licenciatura en humanidades, 1840) y Newton Theological Institute (1840-42); fue pastor en Washington y Richland, Illinois, 1843-46; en Peoria, Illinois, 1846-59 y en Oliver Street Church, Nueva York, 1859-68; fue presidente de Crozer Theological Seminary tras 1868. Editó The Baptist Quarterly, 1869-1877, y escribió Outline of Systematic Theology; and of Ecclesiology (Filadelfia, 1895; en colaboración con E. H. Johnson) y Matthew: Genesis of the New Testament (Nueva York, 1900).
