WORDSWORTH, CHRISTOPHER (1848-1938)

Christopher Wordsworth, historiador inglés, nació en Westminster, Londres, el 26 de marzo de 1848 y murió en 1938. Fue educado en Trinity College, Cambridge (licenciatura, 1870), siendo ordenado diácono en 1871 y sacerdote al año siguiente; fue becario de Peterhouse, Cambridge (1870-78), donde fue tutor (1872-74 y 1875-77); fue coadjutor de Alvechurch (1874-75) y de St. Giles, Cambridge (1875-77); rector de Glaston, Rutlandshire (1877-1889), Steeple con Tyneham, Dorsetshire (1889-1897), East Holme, Isle of Purbeck, Dorsetshire (1890-97), y desde 1897 de St. Peter con St. Paul, Marlborough. También fue prebendario de Lidington en la catedral de Lincoln desde 1886, vicario de la diócesis de Salisbury desde 1898, y deán rural de Marlborough Portion y capellán examinador del obispo de Worcester desde 1905.

Ha escrito o editado: Social Life al the English Universities in the Eighteenth Century (Cambridge, 1874); Scholæ Academicæ: Some Account of the Studies al the English Universities in the Eighteenth Century (1877), Breviarium ad Usurn Sarum (en colaboración con F. Procter; 3 volúmenes, 1879-86); Pontificale Ecclesia Sancti Andreas (Edimburgo, 1885); Lincoln Cathedral Statutes (3 volúmenes, Londres, 1892-97); Coronation of King Charles I. (1892); Tracis of Clement Maydeston (1894); Notes on Mediaeval Services in England (1898); Ceremonies and Processions of the Cathedral Church of Salisbury (1901); Old Service-Books of the English Church (en colaboración con H. Littlehales, 1904); y Precedence of English Bishops and the Provincial Chapters (1906).
